About NEWLO

New Life Organization is where I am conducting my placement. The New Life Organization (NEWLO) is a skills training center located in Grenada in the West Indies. NEWLO has, for over 30 years, been dedicated to providing quality life and vocational skills training for disadvantaged youth, facilitating growth and development of the individual in relation to the family, the community, and the nation. The trainees range in age from 17 to 24 years.

During the academic year, NEWLO trainees attend classes and training sessions at one of the two centers in Grenada, namely: Palmiste and Grenville (St. Andrew’s Life Centre). NEWLO relies on contributions, donations, subvention, and sponsorships from the Roman Catholic Church (both home and abroad), the Government of Grenada, companies in the private sector, individuals, and fund-raising efforts for its operation.
