Dragon Bay

Dragon Bay is located in between the underwater sculpture park and Flamingo Bay. It has some of the best snorkeling we found on the island.

To get there you can take a bus heading up toward Gouyave, it is only about a ten minute ride outside of St. George's. Tell the driver where you want to get off and they will let you off near a sign for the underwater sculpture park. You walk down a short road, where you will find a restaurant and change rooms/bathrooms.

There are reefs on both sides of the cove. Be careful about the right side, the snorkeling is awesome especially if you go around the corner toward the sculpture park HOWEVER the current is strong and getting back requires effort.  Having said that we took our 11 and 13 year old and we all got back, but at one point I was pulling both them through the water. While there is a long stretch of  beach and it looks like you should be able to just swim up and then walk back, you can't. It is very shallow and covered in sea urchins. We wasted time and energy trying to beach- don't make the same mistake.

It is a marine protected area so you need a bracelet that you can get from the Grenada Tourism Authority next to the fire hall on the Carenage. Or I suspect any dive shop or hotel will have them as well. They are no more than $5 XCD. Every time we went out the patrol was out checking bracelets.

This beach also has really beautiful sea glass. Thicker and more varied than Pandy Beach.
