The Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Station is an excellent place to visit to learn about how the countries largest export goes from tree to overseas.
If you are well travelled and used to narrow roads with hairpin turns and steep cliffs a local bus will get you there for $5.00 XCD. Generally speaking the older the driver the calmer the ride, the younger the driver, the louder the music the more the trip will seem like a 40 minute rollercoaster ride.
If this doesn't seem appealing you can take a bus tour with a group up the coast and make sure this is included.
This is one of my favourite places on the island. It gives you a real sense of how people work and what the work is like. Plus the smell is amazing.
