So how about this weather we're having?

People here don’t talk about the weather, it is hot and it rains, enough said.

So during the rainy season it will rain every day. It usually goes in fits and starts. You should go nowhere without an umbrella. Because we have steep hills (baby mountains?) around us it can be hard to see the weather coming until it is here. Depending where you are you maybe have a few minutes warning about an impending downpour. Here in Belmont you do, down in Carnage you really wouldn’t know because the buildings will block your ability to see.

I am not sure if it is because our part of the city is like a bowl the thunder sounds like a sonic boom. The first time I heard it I was sure something had exploded. I went out to check expecting to see smoke but nothing, then a minute later an absolute deluge of rain.

The gutters are built to handle it but are also so dangerous because if you drive into one, you’ve wrecked your car! They are almost as deep as the boys thighs and behind our house much deeper.

Today we have had torrential rain on and off since about midnight.
